Ashford In Summer, the Council sponsor the 'Create' Music Festival in Victoria Park. This is a weekend event (no camping), which gives local Bands and those 'on the brink' to perform to a large outdoor audience. AMF have a Ten Pin Bowling Alley on Ashford Town Centre Ring Road. You need to book well in advance though - it's very popular.
For more entertainment venues you have to travel a bit.
Folkestone has The Leas Cliff Hall. This is a spot on venue being situated right on top of the Cliff's and overlooking the Channel. Every Summer, the Electric Gardens Festival is held near Faversham. This attracts some 12,000 young people to watch some good live Bands.
Further away, but only a 50 minute car ride, is Hastings. Hastings is a buzz of musical entertainment with loads of Pubs having Live Bands of all genre.
For really top names, Leeds Castle hosts two ot three outdoor concerts every year. Recent years have seen Paverotti and Elton John plus numurous top Orchestral Symphonic Orchestra's. Other than that, London Theatreland is only 70 minutes by train and I think that has enough entertainment of all descriptions for any taste in drama, music or other!
The old Ashford Cinema, sadly pulled down to make way for the International Railway Station
Folkestone Leas Cliff Hall. Get there early and sit outside for the Channel Views (and see France!).
Folkestone also have an annual Air Show.
Room for entertainment improvement in Ashford, but around and about, there's a lot
My son Leo with two of his mates at the Electric Garden Festival 2007.
The Tent came back, shame about the Poles ! With prevailing westerly winds, Balloon's have a habit of landing in the field behind our House!
