Amazing Tony Bennet. Did you see that Tony Bennett documentary The Zen of Bennett is headed to Netflix? Any idea when this will be out? The film uses footage from 150 hours of recordings made during the studio sessions of "Duets II" with Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Michael Buble... Independently, Tony Bennett is bringing his heart back to San Francisco on Valentine's Day to celebrate the 50th anniversary of "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". He recorded it for the first time 50 years ago this week. Can you imagine? Get it straight from Amazon ... http://goo.gl/dR34D

Well you inspired me Richard, to stop thinking about what I want to do, and just do it. I am also thinking about what next, where's the next long walk going to take me. I totally agree when you say you never felt fitter than when you reached the end, I had that feeling as well. We have no time to stand and stare. Good luck for 2012.

Hi Richard,
I confess I have been lurking around and enjoying your site for a very long time. Watching it develop in such an excellent way has been an inspiration.
My own experience is certainly not similar to yours but you have inspired me to offer my own wisdom on a kind of parallel topic. The result is that I have just begun a modest blog - http://dowhatyouwanttodo-justdoit.blogspot.com/ - in which I have included a link to Down the Lane. Hope that's OK?
Your new blog is good too - I wish I was 60 again!
Best wishes, Doug

I absolutly agree with everthing Richard has said on this and if you want to see how badly this law is being flouted, try walking virtually anywhere in Cambridge where the sui-cyclists also ignore give ways, stops, pedestrian lights, one way systems, traffic lights and every law that pertains to them, including riding wearing headphones!

If like me you love music, then get "spotify"
I have had it for two years now, and although I make a monthly payment that lets me out of listening to ads, you cam download it for free.
I have found so many recordings of yesteryear, that I would not have been able to hear again.

I discovered Klooks Kleek when in the sixth form in the late sixties. I loved the informality and being so close to 'heroes'. Two bands so far not mentioned - Savoy Brown and Chicken Shack. I think it was Savoy Brown that first got me there.
