I sowed several sorts of seeds about ten days ago, and the lupin seedlings popped through during the week. I was amazed. Nothing else through yet.

In sheltered areas, I have seen violets and forget me nots flowering. In my garden I already have aubretia in flower, and outdoor hyacinths showing colour. Lots of daffs and hyacinths in bloom, and to my surprise a third aconite flowering.

I found some berberis growing in a clump of something else. We got rid of the one in front of the downstairs toilet window, but it has started shooting again, so that is a task waiting. My pink camellia is full of buds, and some have already opened. The bramble is back in the wash house for the night.

Because of a frost warning, the bramble has spent a second night in the wash house. I have cut back some roses in the churchyard, and also in my garden, just hoping I haven't killed them off! Edged two flower beds, and removed some dead grass around one of my roses. Everything is springing into life...

Thanks Manda. Have just had a quick look. The trouble is that a lot of corduroys nowadays are thin, and I have really warm ones! The jogging bottoms I bought are really warm, not very attractive, I have to admit, but I almost don't want to be without them.

Brought the bramble in from the greenhouse this morning, now on the back yard. It has a tiny leaf near the bottom of the stem.

It's the old saying Mo, "dogs have masters, cats have servants" or something to that effect.

It isn't birds foot trefoil, I have that on the front lawn when it needs cutting, and love it. It has tiny leaves, and a star shaped yellow flower.

She seems to be coming round Mo. My last cat was kept in for three weeks, but I walked into the kitchen one day, and found her climbing back in through the very high window! No idea how long this had been going on.
