Re: another lawn question sorry.

Verdon will sort out the weed problem for you, it kills both broadleaf and small leaf weeds. Once dry the area is pet safe. You apply it as a spray so you do not have granuales laying around. As for a feed again you can get liquid feed to spray or water on. There are feed and weed liquids around but...

Members of the public who grow their own tobbaco could get it dried at the sheds. The local history group produced a booklet on the subject today the area is full of...

Re: Is buying a diesel car more frugal than buying a petrol one?

when I first started out as self employed I used the car to get around which had a 1.3 petrol engine. When i got the van it had a 2.5 diesel engine as for fuel costs per week it cost me no more to fuel the van with a much bigger engine than it did the car for the same milage. So I would say diesel i...

Re: It's marmalade time!

I use the marmade kits so can make it as needed over the year. The tin contains the Seville oranges (nothing else added) ready to put in the pan. You then add water to the mark on the tin and stated amount of sugar, bring to boil and cook until you reach setting point. I think the last one I got was...

Re: Electric Bicycles - worth it? Are they frugal?

I have looked at the electric bikes over the years, as I used to do a lot of cycling and liked the idea of a power back up if I started up again. The two main points against that I found was : 1 The weight of the bike, by the time you added the battery pack the bike was near twice the weight, howeve...

Re: My drilling a hole in the wall tip

There was a display of old railway tools at the Mid Hants railway a few years back, they had a track drill that was rachet worked. How long it took to drill though 100 pound to the yard rail was not stated. No wonder so many people were needed to build such lines

Re: My drilling a hole in the wall tip

if you don't have low tack masking tape, you can reduce the stick of the normal stuff by taking a length and sticking it on a piece of glass and pulling it off a few times.
