Re: Sweet Peas

Thanks for your reply. I did pre-soak mine, as instructed on the packet....think I'll wait til the weekend, if there's still no sign of life then I'll try to dig them out and chip them or sand them.

Sweet Peas

My sweet peas were sown 5 weeks ago and are showing no signs of life - they were in pots on the windowsill, inside zipped up freezer bags. Have moved them to the airing cupboard for more heat, but I'm wondering if they are just dud seeds. Hollyhock seeds have been sprouting within 3 days of sowing, ...

Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...

Yes, it's a dangerous time of year for putting weight on. Just back from hols and I do not dare weigh myself :-D So far, I haven't struggled to get into any of the clothes I was wearing pre-holiday.....

Re: Chicken just standing around

Keep fingers crossed it was stress. Can you not get someone local to look after them in your own home. She seems to be back on top form, thankfully. Ironically, the place we took the hens to this time is very local - about 15 mins drive away - whereas previously, we've taken them to the place we bo...

Re: Chicken just standing around

Hi Kitla - no temperature (we had a good feel all over earlier) but, bizarrely, she seems to be completely back on form and has been for the last couple of hours. She's back to her normal self and has been stuffing her face with food and water - her crop is looking good, and we'll have a feel of tha...

Perhaps I should add that she is 18 months old - a Colombian Black Tail.

Chicken just standing around

We've collected our two hens this morning after a fortnight at a chicken holiday boarding place. One of them is definitely not herself - symptoms are:- Just standing in one place Slower reactions than usual and easier than normal to pick up (we normally have a devil of a job catching this one) Keeps...

Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...

Hopefully not considered 'off topic', because I did mention it a couple of weeks ago as part of my 'sorting my weight...' process........ Had my Colour Me Beautiful session yesterday. Had a lovely chat beforehand, explained that I'm (attempting to) change lifestyle, lose weight etc etc and that I'd ...

Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...

I remember once having an illness that meant that for a while I couldn't take coffee, red wine or chocolate. I thought life wasn't worth living Once I got used to feeling great, I didn't miss them as much as I'd expected. It was more the thought of them. I agree - I think it's the idea of things so...

Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...

I jumped onto the scales this evening to find that 3lb have gone! That's brilliant - well done!!! Funny how following a diet doesn't seem to work particularly well for mind or body, but just cutting back a bit, not being greedy etc can have much more positive mental and physical results. (Funny how...

Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...

Well, I have learned a few things over the past week and a half. One is that I don't cope well with life's ups and downs....they take prominence over everything, which in turn leads to being disorganised...which includes being disorganised with food shopping/cooking/eating which then leads to eating...
