Re: Valentina.

Love hearing about Valentia, even though I don't always have the time to post Wendy. I am constantly amazed how these 'shut down' dogs respond to human kindness. Well done you for giving them your time and expertise. {hug}

Re: Help - made a mistake with my chutney

If you weighed all the other ingredients for 6 kg of figs, just empty the chutney back into a pan, add the rest of the figs, reboil and refill jars. You will need to wash and sterilise the jar again unfortunately.

It's that time of the year again ...

... when the leaves are falling and we start thinking of clearing them up. A timely reminder that Hedgehogs are looking for somewhere to hibernate ...so before we put a fork into piles of leaves or compost we need to think Hedgehog. Also bonfires need to be checked before lighting .. a Hedgehog coul...

Re: Bonfire night

Since being involved with rescued ex-breeding dogs I have discovered Pet Remedy . I bought it to help Bella our little rescue schnauzer cope but it has helped Barney too .. last week we were away in the caravan when we had a terrific thunderstorm, he was terrified and started panting and shaking ..a...

Re: Help needed to end puppy farming.

Firstly I want to thank everyone who contacted their MP's to attend the debate ..it has raised a lot of awareness and local councils will now have to clean up their act ....BUT there is still a long way to go. Only last week the owner of a puppy farm (licenced breeding kennels) died and the rescue I...

Re: Advice concernint grooming

Bella has been the same June ..I groom her myself as I do Barney but it is taking lots of patience. I put her on the grooming table every day even if I don't do anything other than put a brush over her. I use the scissors and clippers around her often without touching her and always finish of by smo...

Re: Do we really use our freezers correctly?

I really don't think there is a right and wrong way to use a freezer. For me, a farmers daughter born in the 50's, a freezer is where we store our excess produce to see us through the lean months. I don't live on a farm anymore ..in fact my garden is quite small but I still grow or forage as much as...
