Just looked that up, sounds very economical and tasty, will be part of my menu plan for next week. Thanks for recommendation.

Re: Boodles frugal february

Mobile library comes here but haven't used it. Tend to go on line and reserve books Mo as the library is pretty small in local town and like yours has restricted hours. Would be nice to walk to a good well stocked library and have a browse like I used to in Sussex.

Boodles frugal february

Well I am going to give it a go. I am going to plan menus and stick to a shopping list, I do try to do this but have to admit to picking the odd thing up if I see something I fancy. If I can be up to the mark with that I will be saving on petrol as will only be using car once a week (have to drive t...

Re: Call the Midwife thread.

I trained 1972, things still very strict on the wards then. Still had a matron, sisters had there own dining room and sitting room. Doctors, well consultants were still Gods and everything stopped for their ward rounds. I was so proud of my uniform from the first day I started training. No plastic a...

Re: Films

Never got to watch ben hur last night but got all my jobs done early and just finished watching it. Chariot race ok but still think original film race better. The film was very different in quite a few ways but it very good and I would watch it again.

Re: Films

I want to see Hacksaw Ridge, seen the trailer. My daughter Natalie rented the new Ben Hur last night, will watch tonight but will have to go a long way to beat the classic with Charlten Heston starring.

Such a good programme, believe three more series have been commissioned. It's good to see nurses in proper uniforms instead of scrubs as well'

Re: Strange Saturday night TV mix !!

I don't like these singing talent shows either (anyone remember opportunity knocks). They bore me stupid. Love Casualty, Taboo, haven't watched Don't fancy it. Think generally television has gone down and the amount of repeats is ridiculous, especially films.

Re: Dudley

Definitely agree with you Trevor and Wendy about staffies and street cred. Where I used to live it was very much like that. I h ave to say I was put off staffies when the one the drug dealer who lived next door to me ran down the road with my cat in its mouth. The daughter I live with has a staffie ...

Re: Anyone for 'own pace' fun-walking?

Done a bit of walking but not much, am getting the exercise bike out again so can clock up a bit on that. The blasted weather put the dampers on getting out much at present.
