Re: New illnes......at my age!!!!!

Thank you Ladies you almost made me cry which face it at the moment isn't difficult because I feel so bad. I truly cannot believe that parents whom most probably have benefitted from inoculations for common childhood illnesses choose on the say so of some "facebook" charlatan not to give t...

Re: Veg Box from Lidl

Despite my illness I managed to buy and walk home with another bargain fruit and veg box today. In between resting I've prepped and frozen a couple of pounds of onions, made a veg sauce which will be frozen and used as a pasta sauce, containing courgettes, peppers, onions and tomatos. Which leaves m...

I've just got back from my local Lidl, where I bought and have frozen a large Hovis wholemeal loaf split into portions for 20p and a veg box for £1.50, the contents are as follows 2 packs of string beans, now topped, tailed, blanched and in the freezer. Two packs of button mushrooms one pack will be...

Re: Just returned from "Frugal Central"

Well return flight booked and starting to pack, Toy Boy husband will join me four days later with number 2 son following behind. I'm taking a case this time mainly filled with more bedding and a pair of velvet curtains to hang as draught excluders as until we can afford to get double glazing the pla...

Re: Just returned from "Frugal Central"

I've come to the conclusion that I'm just too old to be moving heavy Bulgarian furniture around so have decided that I'll bribe my sons and one of their mates to come over and provide some muscle. My youngest son told me that it would take less than a week to move the kitchen from the upstairs corri...

Re: Just returned from "Frugal Central"

Well I've been back in the UK for about a week and am still having to get over how noisy it is over here. I didn't get half the jobs done that I wanted to as the first month I was waiting for the British builders to turn up so never again Bulgarian builders from now on. However I did pay the council...

Re: Just returned from "Frugal Central"

Well early tomorrow morning I'll be setting off on my own back to Bulgaria, with a list of works as long as my arm to get started before TB and second son join me at Easter when we'll travel back to the UK together. Turn on the electric and water, clean, clean clean. While I'm there I intend to get ...

Re: Poverty

And their children and their children and many generations after can be sure that their used "disposable nappies" will be in the ever growing heap of landfill well after they've gone. Which thankfully is not what I've ever contributed to despite having been a working Mum.

Re: Poverty

I think that we're more than able to ruin our own environment fabindia and we have /do try and export our rubbish to these countries (China has just refused to take anymore of our waste plastic). I think its time to remove "the log" from our eye before pointing out the splinter in the eye ...

Re: Poverty

I also found that my boys where potty trained earlier or at least I think that they did, also with cloth nappies it was easier to change them as and when, I'm sure that if you're counting the pennies it may be tempting to change them less often. When I managed a childrens centre years ago if we had ...
