Sweetcorn are hungry feeders and do very well with lots of compost/manure/bonemeal etc dug into the soil. Although they can be grown in containers, you would be better off planting in the ground in you can. Sow the seeds (or you can "chit" them on damp tissue first - as soon as the root sh...

 one cheese cake(mascapone & soft cheese mix) in the fridge minus a good sized wedge. I daren't count the calories ... but even with just a dollop of vanilla essence it is truly wicked.

I know you were going to grow some from seed but I shudder to think how long it would take for the plants to grow big enough to harvest Surprisingly only 12 months I grew some from seed a while back but the crown method is definitely the best - the seed sown ones always seem to throw up a seed head...

100ft x 3ft high for £300 might actually be considered quite cheap! The previous owners to my house apparently paid over £1000 for a 4ft high featherboard fence roughly 170 feet length about 8 years ago (my garden isn't that long, I just added up all the lengths of fencing back & front LOL)

My finances are going to be extremely tight since I took out a new mortgage & a loan, and I'm determined not to use a credit card - I've started writing it all down with a running total & remaining balance of what should be in the bank at all times. I also have a tally of my grow your own sp...
