Re: Treadle feeder - Good investment???

No idea but am waiting for the answers myself!! The only disadvantage i could see is the the no of hens feeding at once is limited (mine 'mass feed' in the mornings) There is a film of them being used on the net somewhere, they are the HUGELY expensive ones! Hi Willow, Don't think this would be a p...

Re: Treadle feeder - Good investment???

Thanks dogcatcher, I have seen these before and do like them as they seem more sturdy than the metal treadles and are available on flebay... My only worry is how I would go about getting the hens used to feeding from them as they have to learn to peck at the spring to release the food... :?

Over in West London, I'm now paying £8.75 a sack from the local family run garden and feed centre :( Although popped in to our local Pets@Home recently to get some R.O. water for my aquarium and was going to grab a sack of layers pellet whilst I was there, decided not to bother when I saw the price ...

1 Adult Bobwhite Quail - FTGH

Hi All, I have 1 Adult Quail (Bobwhite?) available free to a good home... I took it on after it was found loose by someone in their garden and they had no interest in keeping it. Guessing it had either escaped from someones pen or had been a released as a game bird. Had it a few months now and it's ...

Re: FOR SALE! - Another farmer selling his flock

There seems to be a lot of farmers jumping on the sell-as-pets bandwagon these days, it does make financial sense for them I suppose if folk will pay £3 a bird. I am not sure that I would discriminate against free range birds just because their lives were….errm…..free ranging; it wasn’t their fault...
