As far as I am aware, plants will only take up whatever nutrients they require, so I do not think it should make any difference whether they have access to loads of Potassium or not. On the other hand, as this is fed in the diluted form, the plants may take it up without realizing what the chemical ...

Stop worrying, if they are eating and drinking, just watch from a distance for a few days.

I am knitting a baby's shawl. In 50+ years, I do not think any one has had a walnut off this tree, the squirrels just plunder it every year as soon as the walnuts are green. {rofwl}
We do find some that have been buried in strange places.
