Hedgehog

Post by julie62 »

I've got a hedgehog in the garden - first one I've seen for a while - not as common as they were are they?

My question is - it's quite small - I've left some cat food out where I saw it this afternoon to help feed it up - is there anything else I can do to help it get through the winter - I'm worried it wont survive cos it's not very big :?

You can buy hedgehog houses for garden, but sure you could put one together just as easy for next to nothing.

I know you have to be careful about hedgehogs on bonfire night to make sure they haven't burrowed into centre of your bonfire.

I love hedgehogs, we have had quite a few of young orphans and elderly hoggies brought into work. One of our vets has a hedgehog called sonic who is simply too tame to be released into the wild. She doesn't even roll up into a ball, bless her :-D

Great that you are feeding catfood, a good source of protein for them.
