Busy Garden Corner

Post by HedgeHugger »

When we dug the pond, We put in an old log, planted some ivy and added a huge grass type plant to the rear corner of it. It's been there for a few years now and has really established itself into a des-res :)

I also have a night time visitor, but he is a bit shy and legs it if we come out when he's about :)

Lovely.
Was it a bat flitting across the hedgehog picture?

Does it take a lot of work to stop the corner turning into a nettle/bramble/dock wilderness?

I think it's a moth in the hedgehog vid.

My chickens free range in the daytime, and do keep down most of the weeds in the garden. I have a rosemary bush just to the right side on the vids which gives a fair bit of ground cover too.
I did put bark and weed prevention fabric down in the area, but the chickens scraped most of it up.
This is the pond when it was first dug.

More stuff has been planted since. The log is the same one near the bird feeder :)
The 2 logs were left over from when we took down a huge hedge. Looks like a very different garden these days, now it's lived in hehe.
