At last Sunflowers, bees and butterflies

Post by fabindia »

After a pretty poor summer, at last we have a few sunflowers blooming. They offer the bumblebees and butterflies a little late summer nectar.

See the photo below and sort video of a butterfly feeding on one of the flowers.

Either that butterfly flew away or my computer won't open the video. There's just a little square.
The birds like the seeds in winter too. One year they popped up self-seeded on the veg plot and I let them stand over winter, except the ones I threw to the hens

And, that was last weekend. The good weather has persisted and there are still butterflies and bees in the garden.

Fabulous photograph Michael.

There's a few Speckled Woods, Tortoiseshell, White Butterflies around here plus many Hawks.

Hanging on !!
