LapwingsLapwingsWalking the dogs this morning we were lucky to see some lapwings swooping and diving probably males competing to impress the females. First time we have seen them here with their distinct "electronic" call. Stood watching them for ages, a welcome and enjoyable flying spectacle.

Re: LapwingsUsed to be a lot here, I still see a few. We moved here in '73 and there used to be skylarks too - they really did start their display flight on Valentines Day. Not seen them here for ages.
