You're getting to be a right twitcher, Richard. Do you get phone calls from other twitchers to get your skates on and head out to such and such place because a rare bird has been sighted?

Haha !!!

Some have a Twitter (appropriate) Account solely for birder pals in the same area and tweet each other when they spot something.
This can escalate on to other Birders.

There was some American Warbler found it's way to Dungeness last year. Within an hout there were 30 Birders there, the next day there were 200 they reckon !!

Upon seeing that, the chap who runs the BTO at Dungeness (bird counts every day plus ringing etc) took a bucket around them all and got £400 !!
It paid for loads of bits and bobs for the work they do down there.

Personally, I'm a striller, what comes comes and what doesn't, doesn't, but I do look at some of the daily bird blogs to see what's about though.
