Mildew - best treatment, organically speaking?

Post by Le Chant »

Hi all. Our vines have succumbed to mildew this year, giving little or no fruit. Although I have a box of proprietary chemical spray, I'd be interested to know if there's an organic alternative?

TIA
Cheers,

Stu.

citricidal

Try something called citricidal, it is grapefruit "seed" extract, not grapeseed extract, we use it at work as a bioside, just google it & you'll get all it's uses on there, it's fab stuff, i give it to the girls, clean with it in, mouth wash with it, everything.

I seem to remember seeing on a gardening show here that spraying milk on the leaves is a good treatment for mildew.
I'm sure you could find some more details via Google on that one.

I have heard of using milk - for clothing which has mildew. I expect it would work then for plants.

Yay I'm helping!
This is the show I saw it on with the info-

Apparently it's MORE effective than 'conventional' treatments - makes you wonder why chemicals are used at all

There's a later one here, which says organic milk is best
