Marrow

not sure whats going on with my marrows ! the leaves are heathy, big bright yellow flowers come out , then the flowers drop off ! any ideas ?

Richard
That's a healthy sign matty.

The flower is basically the tip of the marrow.

If you look closely you will see a baby marrow growing where the flower fell off.

So, the more flowers, the more marrrows you're getting.

Cheers

thanks richard
have checked , but looks like they have been cut off just under the flower head, out of six flowers have one left !

Has the evidence of either mice or pigeons I think.

Pigeons is easy in so far as netting over the top. Mice? They are a real nuisance this year, especially with very young plants.
I saw one of the cats catch one this morning!

I don't grow marrows, just courgettes (same thing really), but as soon as the plants established you have them growing out your ears, so I reckon it's early days for you.

Hope all's well.
