My Thyme has sprouted!

Post by Emmamoo »

For a positive note, I sowed some basil, parsley and thyme last week. I got a little gift set on gardening and growing herbs from my friend's mum for Christmas. I smashed the basil pot by accident, it must have been my elephant's touch. Parsley hasn't germinated but the other has finally popped up and seems to be hurrying along nicely.

Perhaps I should make myself a rock garden and plant some out when the time comes. Has anyone made a rock garden for herbs before?

Hi Emma, well done for getting the seeds going. Parsley can be a bit hit or miss, luckily mine is still going from last year, and it's outside in the garden. I lurve parsley, found with the basil that slugs love it too. Ours got a bit munched last year , so this time I will be on slug duty a little sooner. If you want to do a rockery with herbs im sure it will look great but watch out for the slippery little suckers.
