Tips for radish growing neededTips for radish growing neededDoes anyone have a good tip for radish growing?
We are just getting a first crop. The leaves are massive, but some of the roots are really small I planted in good soil with a lot of compost, they were always well watered and in a sunny position. had a similar experience last year. Thanks for any tips Exchanging home grown fruit and vegetables
http://www.VegExchange.com Eat them small, as soon as they are a bit round. If you leave them to get big they are firey hot and woody, instead of crunchy and refreshing.
They are the quickest to germinate, if you put a pinch of seed at the end of rows of other things, it shows you where you've sown them. If you leave them too long something eats them (carrot root fly or similar)
ok thanks
we did have some success, but there is a huge variety in root sizes, and it is impossible to tell by looking at the leaves which will have small roots and which big. You have some with huge leaves which look promising and then almost no root. Exchanging home grown fruit and vegetables
http://www.VegExchange.com ok - i will make sure the next lot are not too deeply planted - that sounds like a likely error.
