my first cucumber

Post by Meanqueen »

I am so chuffed, I have just cut my first ever, home grown, nurtured with TLC, organic, perfect, 13 inches, CUCUMBER )c( )c( )c(

Photobucket

Lettuce and spring onions are fine, still waiting for the tomatoes, not enough sun, so not quite a salad yet.

Abundant spuds, runner beans, and cougettes, but I have given up on the broccolli, can't keep up with those darned caterpillars.

Eaten all the peas, and the first lot of broad beans - more to come.
Some carrots left, starting to eat the onions.

Just sent off a load of slugs and snails in the brown wheelie bin for composting.

Wow,that looks a great cucumber, Ilona. Is it an outdoor one? Let us know how it tastes. My home grown peas didn't last 2 minutes-they taste so good raw, straight out the pod. )c+ )t'
