I planted some beetroot last year which didn't really thrive. I didn't remove the plants, and they are still alive.
Anyone know if there is any chance of them producing an edible crop in their 2nd year?

Re: Beetroot in 2nd yearThey produce the edible root in the 1st year and flowers and seeds in the second. Even if the edible root didn't form properly they will only produce flower and seed once they have gone through a cold winter.
Re: Beetroot in 2nd yearThanks, that's what I thought, but it was such an odd season last year I thought I would leave them and see what, if anything, happens.
They can come out when I need the space for something else. |
