One of you gave us advice on growing carrots - loo roll containing sand set into the soil. Well, we have success, thanks to the advice. OH is well pleased, so thank you for it.

I have grown some as an experiment this year but are still growing at the moment, glad they worked for you, parsnips grow well that way to easier to germinate in the greenhouse and dont get disturbed when you plant them .I allways do my runner beans the same way ,glad yours were a success )t'
Dont remember if it was me or bob as i know he grows some things that way as well.
A leek in the hand,is worth 2 in the roof.

Oddly enough, Bill, our parsnips are no trouble to grow, and when cooked, just melt in the mouth. Runner beans grow well too, we have just started eating ours.
