I don't fancy my chances with mushrooms. Good on you to have the knowledge.
On Sunday I'm off to the derelict Orchard to help myself. I've had loads of plums from over the Lane, about to try some Medlars (but don't know what I'm doing!), then the Quinces. On the proper 'wild', Blackberries, Elderberry are the main hits at the moment. Not long before the Chestnuts, but have to race the Squirrels. Ged - you doing much? New Member? Well the quinces are nearly ready. The recipes look ggod. It is just having the courage to have a go. Hate to buy things to go with it, and then not like it.
In my organic box this week. I had yellow beetroot. Not seen that before. So I cooked them and then had them sauteed with onions garlic and balsamic vinegar. Served with rice and salad. Weren't too bad. http://www.busheyk9.co.uk

A wheelbarrow wheel.
On our way to Bromyard folk festival we called at a friend, next to her garden is a bit of spinney. Peering over the fence OH spotted a rusty barrow, more holes than barrow. But the wheel was good, our barrow (nearly 40 years old) is good but the axle has worn a hole in the wheel, so it wont turn. So he hopped over and stole it.! (don't tell)
