It is funny how often meal plans can go awry. We went caravanning over the bank holiday and had everything planned victuals wise for the entire weekend. Friday we had cheese and biscuits with a glass or three of vino (bottle of ale) and the Spoonettes had jam sandwiches with crisps and yogurts for their tea; that plan worked out fine.
Saturday after a hearty breakfast of full English proportions we took a stroll down to the local village for essentials (I forgot to pack toothpaste) and popped into a public house for refreshments… ended up with a portions of cheesy chips, a sharing platter of buffalo wings and the Spoonettes had ice-creams afterwards so the planned (and catered for) barbeque no longer looked so tempting. Cheese and biscuits with a platter of Spanish style meats it was the.
Sunday we had a premade steak and kidney to warm up and chow down for evening scran… a brilliant plan but we had a visit from friends, ended up eating in the same pub again.

Oh well steak and kidney on our return Monday evening and redistributing the barbeque food in various formats throughout this week.

That sounds good Wendy. I love couscous but it can be hard to make it tasty.

Cheese and mushroom omelette for us tonight with eggs from my new chooks. Red cabbage salad, baked potato and tomatoes for us this evening.

I do like a nice, well constructed salad once in a while.
we had chicken balti made with thighs that should have been barbecued on Saturtday. I have got that for my lunch as well today.

Corned beeff hash for us tonight.
We don't have our hash how you see it in some recipes quite dry, we have ours like a stew with lovely thick gravy.
Ours consist of
Corned beef (of course jut stating the obvious here), potatoes, onions, Swede or turnip as we call it, carrots, peas, celery, sometimes leeks, oxxos, gravy granules, salt and pepper.
I'm not good at baking and pastry but we like tattie, onion and corned beef pie with a suet crust on top it's soft like dumplings underneath and lovely and crisp on top )eat(

I don't think I have posted on this post before, but our dinner tonight is good old bangers and mash with loads of veggies, which Grandaughter likes.

Hmm what shall I have? There is some cooked rice in the fridge (I ate the last of my home-grown spuds over the holidays, and the butcher was shut on NYD, so I cooked a panful). Some veg & maybe curry sauce.
Then there's 1 portion of Christmas pud (with lemon sauce? there's half a lemon), or apple crumble (there's some stewed apples + crumble crumbs), or goldfish & ice-cream?

Decisions, decisions.
