Another curry thread.

I made a curry from scratch for our tea last night which was quite brilliant even if I do say so myself. Anyway I popped the left over sauce into a container and mixed in some dry couscous. Over night the couscous absorbed the sauce and I have just had curry flavoured couscous for my lunch. Beef and mushroom in case anyone was wondering, probably not a traditional Indian choice of meat but then couscous isn’t either. )c+

I might try that, I love cous cous. I get the packets of chip shop style curry sauce mix though, can't be bothered to fiddle about with all the different spices, I don't like it too hot.

A simple cheats sauce.

1. Soften a couple of onions and garlic cloves in a saucepan for a couple of minutes.
2. add curry powder of your choice
3. add a packet of pasata (29p for 500ml in sadsa) and a table spoon of tomato puree and about 500ml of water.
4. simmer for 25 mins and liquidise.
5. add yogurt to taste.
6. mix in mushrooms etc to give it body and lots of freshly chopped coriander.

Also works well using tinned chopped tomatoes but they are more expensive that pasata and as it all gets liquidised I don’t see the point.
