This may sound silly at my age to ask the above question, but have only ever cooked one marrow in my life and cannot for the life of me remember what I did.
I think I stuffed it with meat, but cant remember even what meat! Oh what it is to get old and fuddled, can anyone help, pretty please. Many thanks.

made this today: marrow & roasted garlic soup
peel, deseed & chunk a marrow
peel a whole bulb of garlic
chop some onions (I used 4 small ones)
Roast the garlic in some olive oil until it is soft then mash it up.
Cook the onion briefly then add stock, add the marrow and simmer for 20 mins or so.
Add the roasted garlic.
Puree in a blender until smooth.
There's no cure for stupidity.

I made a Courgette and Marrow Chutney a few weeks ago and it's good already but you're supposed to wait or three months
I'll post it if you're still looking for things to do....

How very strange.. I just logged on to ask for marrow recipes! I traded some pears for a marrow yesterday but have never cooked one before!

My family think the best thing to do is put them on the compost heap. I think this was the result of my Mother's stuffed marrow.

No, that's a waste. Take them to Harvest Festival, or give them to the neighbours.
Then someone else has the problem.
I never much liked them either.

I was at a charity auction last night and someone bought a huge marrow for £1.50, I said what are you going to do with it? The lady said, make marrow curd, I don't fancy that at all, I couldn't be bothered.

Debi - Could you please post the recipe for Courgette and Marrow chutney?
Thanks!
I like recipes trying recipes that other people have made and liked. It is much better than simply doing a Google search for a recipe!
