This years home made wines..

Post by Willow »

I have now got one demijohn of orange wine and one demijohn of Pineapple wine bubbling away nicely.. )t'

The orange wine has a fabulous stong smell of fresh oranges & if it turns out as well as last years it will be just great.

The Pineapple wine was made with green pineapples. Once I'd found out that Pineapples do not 'ripen' after being picked, I was unsure whether to use them or not but I cut one open and though it wasnt quite as sweet or juicy as a 'ripe' one it certainly wasnt sour so I went ahead.
It now has a really strong pineapple aroma, so I'm hoping for a decent wine )t'

Question for P.penn or any other Wine guru... I somehow managed to have a full wine bottle of the pineapple 'wine' left over after filling the demijohn >shrug< . At the moment I have a light sandwich bag loosely taped over the neck of the bottle. What is the normal thing to do with larger left over amounts??
