Hi Daz,

Had you thought about making a jelly rather than trying to find a sauce recipe? I guess these end up as the equivalent of spicy version of apple mint jelly that you would serve with lamb.

I found quite a few recipes which might suit, I've always wanted to have a go at them but never got round to it.

Oh dear, another one for the 'things to do' list

Good luck with your search, Effie )c+

Hi Daz,

Are you also allergic to onion powder and onion salt? A few of the recipes had onion powder in them. Is it all alliums or are garlic and shallots OK. I guess you could do a straight swap to shallots.

I don't envy you, I can hardly think of any recipes which don't start with an onion

can you try a normal chilli recipe with celery or something like that to give a bit of crunch?
I usually put celery in veg soup because of the taste when it's cooked, but it's nice when slightly crunchy too.

Try this

For every 500g of tomatoes

A good glug of olive oil
3 cloves of garlic finely chopped
2 chillies - leave the seeds in if you like it hot
a handfull of fresh parsley finely chopped
salt and pepper
half a tea spoon of sugar

Fry the garlic and chillies in the oil add the tomatoes cook for 5 minutes add the parsley s+p and the sugar cover and simmer for 30 - 40 minutes
