Blackberry gin/vodka?

Post by fussymare »

I have so many blackberries growing at the end of my garden, and someone suggested making blackberry gin or vodka. Has anyone here made this?I was thinking of making some small bottles for friends as Xmas presents.

For Blackberry vodka I fill a container half full with blackberries, top up with vodka, add a cinnamon stick and a vanilla pod and sugar according to taste. Put the lid on and give it a good shake, shake it everyday for a week, then you can shake it when you feel like it. By Christmas you'll have a scrummy drink which you can either have neat as a liquer (sp?) or with little bit of lemonade. You can use the berries left after straining to use on ice cream for a boozy dessert. )c(
