there is such thing as a free dinner (well almost)

Post by saint-spoon »

Mr’s Spoon won a £50 food voucher for a restaurant over the water in Gun-Wharf Quays, so off we trot this afternoon to clain our free luncheon… actually it’ll be more like a teacheon as we dine at 1700 o’clock. The place is a bit of an American style foodery, chowders, steaks etc… I may have trouble standing up later. )eat(

So there is such a thing as a free scran, but only if you don’t count the cost of the raffle ticket, ferry fair (the Gosport to Portsmouth ferry is extortionate) and wear and tear on the shoe leather. And the isotonic refreshments that we may imbibe. )hic(

Well I had the calamari for starters and the meatball calzone for main, June had Louisiana hot wings followed by the sliders platter (mini burgers). I think that for a change I chose best. It was not the type of place that we would usually go but the meal was free (the wine wasn’t) and the food was nice enough (well mine was anyway). I doubt that we will visit that articular restaurant again, there is an excellent Italian place next door as well as numerous other eateries in the complex. My calamari was very good and the calzone was delicious BTW, not sure about the sauce on Mrs Spoons starter, vinegar and chilli (very hot). All in all a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon/evening out with Mrs Spoon… off to pick the kids up from my Parents in a sec.
