Steaming spuds in a microwave

The sorts of potatoes that taste best (King Edwards, Sharp's Express) tend to turn into soup if you boil them. So now I use a steamer. (As recommended by someone on here)
But I wonder if I could steam them in a microwave.
Has anyone tried, and how do you adapt times etc.

We always do ours that way. We chop them to size and then add a drop of water to the bowl and cover with a plate. For roast potato sized medium-ish, give them a shoogle after about five minutes and then about another three in the microwave. Small, salad types then make that, say, three and two. The shoogle is your chance to gauge progress.

Thanks, I'll experiment. Sounds like it's quicker than in a steamer on the stove then.
