Grape question, help please

Post by p.penn »

I have been given enough home grown grapes to make a gallon of country wine, but unfortunately they were picked far to early and are rock hard! }hairout{

If I leave them on a windowsill or somewhere warm, will they ripen like tomatoes? >coc<

Not sure Helen. If ripened on the window sill they may not be as sweet as when ripening on the vine. Mine are still on the vine and just turning black but not very sweet yet.

As you have got the grapes you have nothing to lose. Just keep your eye on them as they can go mouldy quickly once ripe.

I know nothing about the ripening of grapes but will happily come down and help you test the wine once made )hic( )hic( {hug}

Well, I have just gone and bought raisins for the unripe grape wine recipe, (organic, at great expense!) so have now passed the point of no return! yike*

Wish me luck! >fi<
