Mimi's over Rainbow Bridge.

Post by Richard »

She had another fit the night before last and was very poorly. I stayed up til 3am holding her hoping she may just go to sleep, but she made yesterday.
Yesterday she moved around a little bit then just slept from 10am til about 10pm. When she breathed her head was twitching all the time and had no control of her toilet.

So we took her to the Vets this morning and decided it was time. Surprisingly in all my years I've never done that before and felt like an Executioner I have to say but stroked her throughout and she just popped her head down and that was it, very gently.

The Vet said she could tell heart failure but unsure of the underlaying reason without tests, but she wouldn't have got through all that I'm sure and she has looked so miserable and ready for a few days.

She;'s about 18, biorn in the Barn opposite, spent 6 years or so with the two old boys over the Lane and passed on to us when the second one died.
She's seen two other cats come in and taken it all on board, loved a lap and went about her business quietly.

Bloomin heck I'm going to miss her as we all do with any of our pets, part of the household, part of the family and part of you.

I've just buried her in her favourite Garden spot under the Laurel Tree.

Oh Richard, I am so sorry that you have lost your beautiful girl Mimi. She was so pretty.
When we have any animal for such a long time, although we love them, they are just there. It's not until they go that we realise what a huge part of our life they are.
It's lovely that she is still with you in the garden as she will still be a part of your life.
You will miss her dreadfully at times but also know what a lovely life she had with you.
RIP little Mimi and for you {hug}
I am now a widow and live with my memories.

Aww that is sad and it always hurts. I have had to do it far too many times.
You loved her enough to let her go, rather than let her suffer
