Thank goodness it was nothing too serious. Get well soon Bailey and get that tail wagging again.
I expect you are feeling a great sense of relief Helen. {hug}

Yes June. I was a bit worried she may have broken it and it would have to be amputated.

Mind you, I have just remembered that my first lab had a tail problem once. His had a bend in it though

Did the vet say how/why this happened?

Oh poor Bailey, have to say I have never heard of a frozen tail or broken wag :oops:

Glad to hear it's nothing serious though and that it will get better on it's own {hug}

Well, it could have been over exertion, but he said often it's after they have been swimming because of freezing water. I did tell him that I bathed her, but he said that probably wouldn't have been cold enough.

Looks like we will never know exactly how she did it

I haven't walked her today as I have been told not to (handy if it is going to be ghastly weather tomorrow!) and her frozen tail seems to be defrosting a little! Most of the end can wag now, although it still looks odd where it joins her body, and is quite bent and wavy generally!

The important thing is that she seems happier, although the problem I have tonight is getting her to wee in the garden as it is so rainy and windy! }hairout{

Well, just an update. Firstly, thank you all for your concern and best wishes {hug}

I took Bailey out for a walk today for the first time since it happened, and she was fine. Actually, not quite as ridiculously waggy as usual, but she did manage to bounce everywhere!

I have decided that today will be her last dose of anti inflammatory - she is not in pain and her tail ( although a little wonky) is certainly working.

So ( in the words of the BBC) normal service will be resumed asap! )c(
