Usually as I walk into the main body of the kennels I can hear him barking. Today....nothing. When I went round the side he was quiet in his kennel )t'
No issues with other dogs again today. Granted we weren't close. But I did have to walk him between two dogs and I kept him focused on me. So little steps.
I left feeling pleased again today.

Another good day for Sammy. He walks nicely now on a loose lead. phew !!
He hasn't reacted to a dog now, since last Thursday so I am really happy with him.
He thinks about it and I tell him No then get him to sit and focus on me. I am really please with how he is coming along.

Sammy is doing well.
I can now be about 20 ft from a dog who is barking and growling at him and he doesn't react. Granted he has to sit and look at me. But for a dog who was as taut as a violin string, that is major self control.
Today, while in his kennel with him, another dog went past, very close and I managed to get him focused. Which I think was brilliant of him.
Sadly I am not there all the time. So I know he reacts when dogs go past. You never know I may get this out of him. But I fear not. He, probably, will never be able to have dogs close. But he is manageable. All we need now is an amazing owner that can live with that and learn to manage him.

Small steps and that amazing owner is out there, just you wait and see. Another very well done, Wendy.

Even at my age, I have learnt so much from you being on this forum and parting with your wisdom.......thank you very much for that, Wendy. {hug&kiss}

I have him doing sit, downs and stands. He goes to heel and sits, from in front and he will come round in front and sit again. He will walk 'really' well to heel if you chat away to him. I have a nice sit and recall and he will do a 20 second sit stay. All in a week. He loves to work.
Today I decided to do some twirls in front of me. Twice of doing it and he now jumps into a twirl. )c(
Watch out Mary Ray we are on our way )grin2(

What an intelligent boy Wendy and what a wonderful relationship you have built up with him. Lets hope that there is someone somewhere as devoted as you are to give this boy a home and work with him, when he is ready.
I hope the other walkers carry on your good work when you're not there. )t'

I am the only one who walks him June. He is put in the paddock, on his own, otherwise.
He is as smart as a button. A brilliant dog to work with. He is a really lovely cuddle bunny and will sit on your lap given the chance
He needs owners who can work with his problem and learn to manage it

After the bite on the 11th November. I haven't been working with Sammy.
He is incredibly strong and I just haven't felt my hand was up to it.
But tomorrow I am going back to him, bless him. I hate to let him down. But I had no choice, as he is very OTT.
I have no doubt he will be the b ugger he was when I first started, so back to square one. I will keep you posted.

I was pleasantly surprised that he had remembered a lot of what I taught him. Considering it was only a few weeks we had together.
He pulled to start with, but then remembered, I am not going that way. He didn't bark at any dogs whole of the time, out in the field. Remembered that I want him to sit and watch me.
Sadly he is probably worse in the kennel :? But that is difficult. I was getting there, so need to start again
All in all not the problem I feared he might be. )t'
