Molly is not well

Post by Gwenoakes »

Molly is a ginger female Burmese x cat that is 14 yrs old this last Sept.

She didnt want her food this morning, wouldnt get out of her bed which is really unusual for her as food is her everything. Clare has just got back from the vets and she has a respiratory (just know that is spelt wrong!) infection and a really red sore throat.

She has Metacam and AB injection with AB tablets to take starting tomorrow. She did a few years ago have crystals in her water and is on a special food for that, so we are catching her wee in some special cat litter and they will test that also.

She has come back and eaten straight away, so must have been the really sore throat that stopped her this morning.

It was a proud owner moment when the vet said that she wasnt too overweight (we have always fought to keep her weight right) and that she was the best 14 yr old cat he had seen for a long while and he thought she would be around for quite a few years too. He didnt didnt try to argue with Clare either when asking if she had had all her injections and the answer was no from Clare which makes a change tbh.

Thanks, Spreckly and Jem. {hug}

She still hasnt done a wee, but is still eating small amounts so not too bad, bless her.

I dont know, we have just the other day stopped giving Bella AB's and now it is Molly on them! I wonder just what we would do with our time if it wasnt spent on the animals. LOL

I hope she will be better soon Gwen and hurry up and do that wee for you. So worrying when they aren't well and can't tell us what is wrong.
Come on now Molly and help your mum out {hug}

Good news re Molly, she has no crystals in her urine......she delivered a sample mid morning yesterday.........and the AB's seem to be doing their job re the respiritory infection. She is nearly back to normal, thank goodness.

Thanks for all your enquiries and hugs and love.

Thanks for all your good wishes, they are really appreciated. {hug}

Molly is not too bad now, will have her last AB tonight, but has started to cough again, so we are thinking another trip to the vet may be in order in the next day or two, just to check she is really recovering.
