Fieldfares

Post by Richard »

Hi

In the last week, loads of them have appeared in the Field down the Lane, some edging up to the trees alongside the garden.

Very busy going from one tree to another and lovely little chirps.

Very hard to get a photo. You quietly approach one tree, get the camera ready and they all flock on to the next one!!

They're on the RSPB Red Alert List, so pleased to have them down the Lane.

They are handsome. We used to see flocks of them but the hedge between garden & field is higher now (or there are less about).

Thinking that I glanced out of the window and saw something flutter and land on a tree. A woodpecker by it's posture, but not there by the time the binocs were out of the case.

We've not seen Fieldfares for a few years. They were landing on the field at the bottom of our garden, but it would be nice to see them again.
