Post by wendy »

I wasn't going to take on another dog at Welfare until Fearne went home.
But the staff keep asking me to. Yesterday the Manager asked if I would take
on Cyril ,as well .

She said he was getting worse. Excitable, there is a surprise, pulls on lead, rags the lead and generally stressed also getting aggressive to other dogs.
He is only a youngster 2 years old.

I have had him an hour today. Played with him and done some training and then walked him around the field.
Half way round he realised I would like him to walk nicely. He will make someone a lovely dog

It works out about 2 and a half Mo. Bit different from the hour a day I started with )grin2(
No they aren't, Which is a shame because if they all behaved how I do the 'problem' dogs' I have. They would be rehomable. The NAWT have a behaviourist working there and she is supposed to be teaching them.
But there are dogs, that they cannot seem to work things out for.

The fact that the problem dogs that you have helped have become 'normal' must make you see how little attention they have been given in the past.
You must give so much care and patience to these dogs to turn their lives around. Cyril is a lovely handsome boy who will I'm sure, because of you, eventually have a loving family life.
Glad he is in your care Wendy {hug}

I hope so June.
The way things are going both Missy and Valentina, will be there until they die.
Even today one of the staff said they wouldn't touch Missy !!! what chance has she got if some people are allowing her to dictate what she wants. She just needs to follow the rules I make for her and they wouldn't have a problem. They see her with me,behaving like a normal dog

For goodness sake what is wrong with these people!! Surely they can see that they are undoing the good that you have done. It must be so frustrating to know that the people who care for the dogs when you aren't there aren't keeping up with your work.

Well Ferne has been reserved, so all being well. She should go home in a week or so.
Cyril was on reserve. But I found out yesterday, they have decided not to have him.
Poor little boy.
Jackie, the manager, said yesterday, she wished she could clone me and every dog would have a Wendy )grin2( . So that is nice to know I am appreciated

Cyril is still with me.
I am sure he is a collie cross. Very easy to train, once you get him to calm down. But with a little play and a little training. It is working well.
His recall is pretty good and sits each time he comes back. As well as when asked. Drops the ball and sits for you to throw it. Doesn't snatch any more....thank goodness !.
Sits, down and stands on command, gives his paw and touches.
Today I taught him, go hide and peek a boo. He is really delightful

Well today I said goodbye to my dear Cyril {cry}
What a wonderful dog he turned out to be. He just needed something to put his brain to.
He does go hide, peekaboo. But now will walk through my legs backwards and forwards. Twirls in front and to the side. Weaves in and out of my legs. Oh what fun him and I have had.
But....he goes home on Monday. Bittersweet. I will miss this little man. But life is
now going to be wonderful for him. A couple who look in the early 50's. So he isn't going to be left too long and they are stable.
He has got out of all his ripping and chewing that he did, as he was just bored rigid.
So we had our last walk today, as I don't go on a Sunday.
I will start with another dog on Monday. I am trying o find a photo for you.
Have a happy life, baby xxx
