Best laid plans of mice and men !

Post by wendy »

Well having said....yet again....that I wouldn't take on another dog while I have Missy, Tina and Zac.
I went into reception and was begged to take on Sally. I did say I would look at her after Christmas. She is so stressed they have her in Reception most of the time. But she is still pacing and chasing her tail . Poor little soul
So she had 40 minutes with me today. Lets hope I can help her out.

Image

She is a cross terrier of some sort. With a scruffy coat and a hairy little face.
Apparently terrorise by the 5 year old child until she growled. Straight into rescue !

Poor little girl! There is no knowing what she has had to endure with her last owners so hopefully she will in time have a different future somewhere else. )t'
Good luck with her Wendy {hug}

Sally is very lucky to have your time and attention, Wendy. She does look a lovely little dog.

She's just the sort of scruffy dog that I like. Our Toby is a similar mismatch of breeds.

Just lately I seem to have read a lot about children teasing dogs who put up with a great deal but eventually issue a little warning. Just asking . . . whatever happened to training children to behave around dogs???
Bea; 19 hens (most of whom I intended to get); 6 bantams (which I never intended to have); old Benji dog and young Toby dog (who I definitely wanted). Three years into country living and loving it.

This is just the sort of dog that I like. Our Toby is very similar.

There's a theme on a local pet site where people are "getting rid of dogs" because they have significantly failed to train their children to behave properly around animals.

Sorry for the duplication. No idea how that happened as I was sure that I had lost the first post.

Today she was wanting to be with me in the paddock, as opposed to yesterday's...........who are you ?
We had a little game of catch the treat and find the treat.
I took her back to reception and went on to do the others.
When I went back to sign out they said she had been playing with them, the first time ever. So that is nice to hear.
Sadly I won't be there tomorrow.

I wish ................
But she is a lot less stressed now and the staff say they can tell when I have been.
So that is good for her.

She is absolutely lovely, Wendy, what a cutie. She reminds me of a dog we had when I was a child who was called Scamp.

I am glad she has found you and am sure you will have great success with her.

I have to second what Richard said about you being an angel, too. {hug}

I hope they deserve her - and appreciate how you made a difference to her life.

You are a marvel.
