It's the old saying Mo, "dogs have masters, cats have servants" or something to that effect.

Once a female cat has been neutered, they become a molly, while a neutered male cat is known as a gib.
Never heard those terms before.* Not had a female before.

*Not in that context anyway. Only molly dancers https://themorrisring.org/about-morris/molly

In the past I have had both neutered male and female cats, but never heard those terms mentioned.

She is spending a lot more time with me now, but only when she chooses to.
I've noticed differences between her and Pat.
She climbs all over the place but is very delicate about where she puts her feet - Pat had got rather clumsy. Walks across the desk without typing on my computer keyboard (usually).
In my study is a cardboard box of books I take* to dance club. It is rather shredded as Pat used to sharpen his claws on it. Last night she wasn't doing that, she was biting bits off it and scattering them on the floor.
I was doing a Zoom meeting, playing along (muted, as it doesn't work otherwise) with some dance tunes. Pat would have left the room. She was very interested, particularly in the piano accordion. Up on her hind legs sniffing at it. Even had front paws on the keys, back feet on computer keyboard. So just as well my mike was muted and camera turned off or the would have seen a cats tail and heard a discordant noise.

*when we are allowed to meet!!

Well she's not been into the study since that music session, even though the accordion has stayed in the case.
But she sleeps with me on the bed.
This morning I found a blue spider with yellow legs in the shower tray. Last time I saw it, it was in the airing cupboard.
I'm getting used to hearing scrabbling noises in the night and thinking 'cat playing' rather than 'oh. not another fit'. Much better way to be woken up.

Sounds like she is totally making herself at home, Mo.
Has she wanted to go out yet?
It is amazing how we compare our animals, but never really notice things if you get my jist, i.e. the scrabbling noises in the night you hear.
I remember when we got Bella our last Staffie and I took her out into the garden and I noticed she was looking up at the birds in the sky.
It took me by surprise because the dog we had before her was almost blind and for a long time had never seen or looked at the birds but I got that used to it I did not notice.
As for the cardboard box that she bites, if Pat used to scratch it it will have all his smell on it and possibly her way of saying this is my home now.

The person I got her from was very definite that I shouldn't let her out her 6 weeks.
I might have tried sooner, but I agreed to that. She's seen out from various windowsills, knows that you can open curtains in the middle to squeeze through, and has even realised that one window has a curtain that is 2 widths one side and 1 width the other so doesn't open in the middle.
She's good at doors too so I expect she'll get the hang of the cat flap when I open the kitchen door into the porch. By April it might have warmed up so I won't mind leaving it ajar.
