Hello and welcome to the forum!
I have always dreamed of having a little hogspital, but I doubt I ever will. Do you have a website or keep a blog??

Wow, we love hedgehogs in our family. We often get them in the garden but, like Richard, was not sure if feeding them would cause more harm in the long run. Now I shall feed them to my hearts content! :-D :-D
My 10 year old daughter wants to be a vets nurse when she grows up. But she has told me she wants to work in a vets specialising in hedgehogs and giraffes!! Not sure that many vets treat these on a regular basis! Maybe she should work in a zoo and run a hedgehog rescue place in her spare time )j;

Babycakes, I would really love to do some kind of blog or website, not very technical I'm afraid but when I get a chance I might look into it.

I'm hoping to have my shed (hogspital) up and running by the end of Spring, it will need to be boarded and insulated, and I am now starting to gather some more equipment together, heat pads, cages etc.

It was originally going to be called 'hogwarts' as I'm a big fan, but I think I might settle for 'The Hedgerow Hospital', covers any other types of patient I might get. I must admit overwintering them in the house is not easy, especially by this time as they are getting quite large, so I really can't wait, hopefully it will mean I'll be able to take in more if needed also.

A blog would be great, as my garden is always full, I have a little robin who visits twice a day for his mealworms, very demanding sits outside the window singing (adorable)!!!

Mad chick, how fantastic that your daughter wants to do such a worthwhile job. You're right though hedgehog and giraffe is slightly going from one extreme to another.

Keep feeding the hogs if you all can, they really need all the help they can get.

Take care all,

what a wonderful thing you are doing for the hedgehogs.

We don't see many here round the farm. Saw one sitting in the middle of the road one night as we were driving along. The road was busy, and I made Rick stop, and go and get the hedgehog, and put it out of harms way in a hedge.

Where I work, there is a hedgehog in the garden. One day, the gardener came up and said there was a hedgehog on the horses feed room floor ....I said yes, it lives there, and has done for years. They have a lovely big garden, so its safe from the road.

Just wanted to say thanks Bluebell, you inspired me to blog and I've had a go at starting me own one (wasn't as bad as I thought)

http://hedgerowtales.blogspot.com

It will be great because I'll be able to log the progress of my 'hogspital' as it gets built and visitors, raising the awareness means everything to me and if only a few people look at it I'll be happy.

Thanks again (f+

Hi everyone,

Yeah your right, try again now I've amended it, let me know how you get on, there's no point in doing a blog if no one can read it.

Thanks for the interest )t' , take care

Very good Alli, got it now. I have just started a second blog, now got to find out how to make a new profile for it. It seems the same profile is used for all blogs, not much use when they are a different subject. It's all a leanring curve. Good luck Alli

I've left a message on your blog. I thought the profile bit ( to leave a message) was a bit confusing I've got a blog so it was easy for me, but not sure what I would have done otherwise.

AlliH, lovely pics of this little hoggies - so cute! Good luck )t'
