Unexpected

Post by Spreckly »

Last Thursday and Friday, I had eye migraines. It is many years since my last one, but the migraine progressed to the point where I could not work out how to make a phone call, or send a text. Most odd, and worrying. I managed to send a text via messenger to a nearby neighbour, but it didn`t make much sense. She and her husband came round, and after she made phone calls on my behalf, they took me to Hull Royal Infirmary A and E Department. My son arrived, they went home. After bloods, and several hours waiting, I saw the doctor, who took my blood pressure twice and pronounced it to be very high..She thought ~I might have had a transient ischaemic attack. My speech and my ability to make a phone call had returned the following day.

Yesterday I received a phone call from the doctor in the Stroke Unit, who asked a raft of questions, and booked me in for MRI and CT scans, ECG, more bloods and Blood Pressure tests. Hopefully I will get the results tomorrow. My BP is still very high.

Onwards and upwards.

{hug} it must have been very scary. Thankfully your neighbours knew what to do. Hope the results of the tests are good news.

I was told by the doctor that she would phone me the afternoon after my tests, which was Tuesday. By the time we got home, a phone call had been made, saying they would phone in the next twenty four hours. Nothing the following day, and the doc eventually called me on Thursday afternoon. I have a protein induced deficiency, which caused a slight bleed, thus the inability to type a phone number or say what I wanted to say. It was not a TIA. My blood pressure last Friday and on Monday was 192 over eighty two. I was given an additional BP tablet to take. Going to see my GP on Wednesday for a routine visit, and the surgery are loaning me a machine to monitor my BP for a week. I can drive again, thank goodness, and have to have my eyes tested, which is booked for next week. My mobility has decreased yet again, but I am managing to look after myself.
