The Dr i used to have for the Children years ago now retired was lovely, he always used to say "why are you worried about a temp?" Its just the bodies way of dealing with virus, infection, etc, nothing to worry about :? I still worried though, its what mums do no matter what age they are, the only itchy rash other than an allergy is chicken pox,? Your dr seemed to think no to that, If she has a sore throat, you sometimes get a rash with tonislitus

Hi Sara you have probably done this but if you go to google images and type in rashes there are hundreds, some are a bit graphic but it may give you an idea, my daughter had a rash every time she was ill, needless to say I worried for many years, like stace says a temperature is the bodies way of fighting an infection, try to make sure she drinks, my daughter also was playing with a new toy and came out in a rash we don't know why maybe something on the packaging etc a course of antihistamines soon cured it. Hope you don't have too stressful a day and hope liv feels better soon xx

Glad Liv's temperature is down. Things like that always seem worse at night somehow.

Chicken pox is like little raised pustules or blisters - it doesn't sound like that to me. You may never get an answer I'm afraid.

I was going to say it sounds like chicken pox - the way you describe the white round the edges and red in the middle. Hopefully it won't be too itchy.

As has already been said regular paracetamol and if need be pop her in in a luke warm getting towards cold bath which will bring her temp down., sometimes help take the itchiness away too if there is any...pat dry too as if it is chicken pox you don't want to knock the tops off as they can scar.

Sara, it does sound like chicken pox to me but obviously I can't see it, calamine lotion will cool the rash and stop some itching, if there is any more swelling I would take her to the Dr's just to be sure, hope you and Liv get some rest, maybe best not to put shoes on just socks with lycra in so they will "give" a little and not be too tight for her, )t'

Sara, that doesn't look like chicken pox to me more of a measles thing, but am no expert. Chicken pox are quite pronounced spots with blisters in, take care

I thought measles to start with. That is why I asked if she had it in her mouth.
Too close to be chicken pox.

Hi Sara

Both my kids had a similar looking rash when they were toddlers. It was an itchy rash and they felt fairly poorly for a few days with a very high temp. Have a look at Roseola. The info I've found on it says that the fever lasts for a few days and then the rash appears for another few days but my two had a fever and rash at the same time for about 4 or 5 days.

Is it more pronounced in the creases of her knees or elbows? It could also be a very bad case of childhood excema...

hope she's better soon, poor love
