Why oh why do we forget our age sometimes!

Post by Richard »

So, off I went to work this morning, lots to do in preparation for our two forthcoming matches in Beckenham and some of the Cricketers came in to practice.

It was decided they would practice hitting sixes from 'the middle', one problem being they were short of fielders - so, in I go, volunteer extreme.

They're, all bar one, less than half my age, professional, some of the best in the Country, a couple world class etc.

Oh no, I wasn't going to show them I couldn't take it, rushed around stopping balls on the boundary getting the "chase it Dicky", "Catch Dicky", "Go Dicky" etc.

I have to admit I did quite well and they thought so as well. Off home we all went, them in their Mercs and me in my Kia. Nice day I thought.

Now, some hours later I sit here typing this with groin strain and buttock ache, the latter being the L5 problem I think.

Why am I such a Prat ?

Richard :-D

PS. At least I get free Physio!!

Oh Lucy - don't ask questions when you know full well what the answer's going to be :-D :-D

I'm afraid the groin strain treatment is a thumb firmly pushed into the appropriate area and held there for about five minutes! I've seen grown men cry!
