Putting me out to graze

Post by Richard »

Well, in March, the Tour Guide at Dover Castle War Tunnels said we were now going to make our way upward to the Exit and asked me in front of 30 other people if I was 'OK doing stairs' in a loud voice I should add).

This afternoon, one of the Pakistan Cricket Team said to me 'You are very fit to do this job Dicky, how old are you, about 75?'

I did put him right. Regret that the Bellringer, two Groundstaff and the 12th. Man were all standing there at the time, so by this morning, news had reached afar!

But I have had the Maintenance Dept offer to make me a Zimmer Frame, the Players suggesting a whip round for a Stannah Lift, but the Payroll Dept saying they can now pay me less because I couldn't get a job anywhere else.

I have to say that it did prompt me to do a little work on myself this week.

Think it came out quite well....?
