Aww here's a big {hug} for you all from me.

I'm definitely getting about better than I was, still bit painful though and *I think* that horrible shooting pain is getting not as bad as it was (touch wood >fi< ).

Read last night that the piriformis muscle is very close to the sciatic nerve and in some cases the nerve goes through the fibres of the muscle itself - no wonder it's been sore!

Eck, poor you. I injured my neck in 2004 with torticullis too - again when I tried a different blooming class at the blooming gym!!! I couldn't go diving in Egypt because of it!! Honestly gyms are bad for your health!!

Bolly, I'm going to be doing more stretching today for sure )t'

Interesting to see all the comments about glucosamine, glad you've all found something that helps.

>mmm< >mmm<

I have Arthritis in both knees and have been taking Glucosimine and Chondroitin for about eleven years. I really think it slowed the progress of the Arthritis. I stopped taking it for about two months a few years ago and my knees got decidedly worse, so I started again. The mutt has A too and she has G and C every day on the advice of the vet.............Lyn

Would Glucosimine be good for a bad back? It's general wear and tear?

Thanks )t'

I doubt it would do any harm, it might even help a bit, I would think its worth a try. Its what we produce in our bodies anyway so I would go for it )t'

I'll try again. I keep writing posts and they disappear in to thin air.
I have back and knee problems and I find them really beneficial. I take 2000mg a day but I have been taking them for a long time. Be careful of supermarkets as they do sell them but 9 times out of 10 they are low dosage. So by the time you make the dosage up it works out expensive. I get mine from Holland and Barrett as they usually have good deals like buy one and the second one for a penny.

Had another session with physio yesterday and it feels sore today where she's worked, but I've managed a very gentle gym and swim session which I'm pleased about :-D

Have also been doing gentle lower back exercises that physio gave me to do.

We're waiting to hear from my doc now, as physio has written off to them so that I can hopefully get a scan to find out exactly what's going on.

At times it has made me feel really quite down, does anyone else get that? Wondering if the pain is ever going to go away {cry}

Bev if you remember I said to you right from the start get a scan done. I can't understand why your physio didn't arrange that right from the start. No disrespect but I wonder as she's private she was getting money from you. As I say no disrespect to Physios as they do blooming good work but it does make me suspicious.
Yes it does get you down at times and you think why me but you will get over it and carry on but you will get good days and bad days, and the bad days do depress you. Chin up gal you'll be OK.
