Feeling under par

Post by albertajune »

I have gradually developed a one sided headache that is getting me down. Not a thumping head but feels more like the head you get when suffering flu etc. All one side of my head feels tender to touch. This starts at the temple and goes across the the sinus area over my eyebrow and down the side to just behind and above the ear. The headache itself is fairly mild. I know you do have a muscle that runs from the back of the neck and right up behind the ear to the temple, so think it might be that. Will go to my GP tomorrow if still the same but know I will only get stronger pain killers.
My query is, could it be a migraine? It did come on after a stressful day on Tuesday and gradually worsened.
Maybe now that I have written about it, it will just dissappear. I hope so!!
I am now a widow and live with my memories.

I had the same problem and it was found I'd got high blood pressure. Which would account for you having it after a stressful time. Only a suggestion.

You could have a sinus infection? although when my head and hair are tender to touch with shooting pains, it is usually a migraine )t'

June, I say it's your sinuses (I get them one-sided) and I think you need a bit of hot steam, in the bathroom. I just hope you feel better, real soon. {hug}

I suffer from one sided headaches.They are called cluster headaches and are awful.They can very in severity and can cause my right eye to become bloodshot,watery and my neck to become tender and stiff.Tension can bring them on but it is thought to be a chemical imbalance.Any new headache should be investigated ,it could be a migraine which can be treated. )t'

I'd say a one sided sinus infection... :?

Does it hurt more if you tip your head downwards?

Not particularly Steve, although I have had sinus problems in the past and over the eyebrow feels quite tender. I didn't think that sinus would affect my actual head. The head today is not quite so tender, but still feeling achey and a bit fuzzy.
If it continues will see the GP. To get an appointment on a Monday is hopeless.

Thanks you all for your input. It does help. I have a non sympathetic OH and it does help to tell someone. {hug}

Would agree with Helen, won't hurt to see what the GP thinks. Hope it gets better soon {hug}

I saw my GP today who thinks I have the shingles virus. She says that how I describe it is typical of how shingles are before the blisters appear. I have a week's treatment so fingers crossed it will go before I get to the stage where I can give chicken pox to someone. yike*

Oh poor you {hug}
I had shingles last year so I know how you feel.
It's good that you spotted it so early as the treatments work best if used in the early stages. Hope you're feeling better very soon {hug}
