im sure i can make a thyme tincture or my mum can, i get horrendous skin sometimes, so this would be a nice change to all the chemicals i put on it to give rid of my spots !

Do you know lillia, i always try to go natural with hair care and beauty - today in fact ive just had a body wash with lemon juice for my sunburn and it really does take the sting off, as well as the aloe vera plant, but when it comes to spots on my face nothing natural works and they drive me mad!!

I always had bad spots as a teenager and then they cleared up towards my twenties but now i dont get as many but i get great big massive ones!! I have to use benzyl peroxide on them, which i first got for clearing up my skin when i got married, but nothing else seems to works, the main downside of benzyl peroxide is that it bleaches your pillows at night :? imagine whats its doing to my skin!

I understand...have you tried simple apple cider vinegar? Anything will take at least a week to show improvement if it's natural~ :-D

I read the article about thyme, as OH has a skin problem. For years and years he has taken one Oxytetracycline tablet a day. When he was ill a few weeks back, and wasn't taking them, his skin broke out very quickly. He has tried Echinacea in the past, but it isn't as effective as Oxytet, and upsets his tummy.

It will be interesting to see the outcome of the trials. Like most of you, neither of us like putting chemicals into our bodies, though as I am diabetic and have high blood pressure, meds are essential.

I sometimes get these. Have you tried tea tree oil? Does it for me. Seems to penetrate at they stage they are just a slightly tender bump, and sorts them before they come to anything. Use morning and night for a day or two.

You could try dissolving and aspirin tablet (uncoated one) with a bit of water and then mix with honey (that stops it being a flakey mask and honey has antibacterial qualities too)...then put on either as a mask or spot treatments...the primary ingredient in acne meds is acetylsalicylic acid = aspirin ...cheapo ones will do so if you want to give it a try it's not expensive if it doesn't work for you )t'
