It never rains but...

Post by sazchops »

As you know I am the most unhealthy person.
I suffer from Asthma and excema, like I get hospitalised a lot. ( Most people didn't know a skin rash can put you in hospital )
Because of this I take lots of tablets, steroids.
So now I have Diabetes!! caused by the pills I take. }hairout{ }hairout{
In the past few years I have refused to be controlled by my allergies, I am not daft, I avoid the dangerous ones but the ones that might make me sick, but I like, well..
Looks like I am finally going to have to be a grown up...

Sorry to hear you've got more health troubles Saz. My friends just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and so far she's managing ok but it does involve changes to your diet.
Have they started you on medication? Hopefully there's a specialist nurse who will be on hand to explain it all to you {hug}

Reason I stopped being a Pharmacist - I got tired of poisoning people! ..... (though I do understand that dr-ugs can be lifesavers for some)

Saz, have you considered an alternative approach? I know not eveyone believes in it, but I have personal experience that Homoeopathy can do amazing things, and it can be particularly effective for allergy-type things. The royal family use it, and I don't think they are gullible mugs.

Also I had a Tai Chi teacher whose wife developed diabetes, the full thing needing injectable insulin according to the docs, who managed to control it with daily Tai Chi. My BIL has diabetes too, and his blood sugar comes down dramatically with yoga, Tai Chi and even a brisk walk. Might be worth seeing what more exercise would do.

But I'm not suggestion ignoring the docs, I hasten to add. Diabetes can do a lot of damage if it is not controlled.

Take care of yourself - hope it all improves soon.

Oh dear, trouble is certainly looking out for yo at the moment. You must be really fed up.

It must be difficult doing the extra exercise with the asthma & excema too - are there specialists who could help you plan an exercise regime that would suit your challenges?

I had excema as a child and also allergy/asthma as a teen, but got over them with desensitising treatments. Is it worth asking about them?

I do hope that you feel much better. Like you, I suffer with numerous things, so know how depressing you can sometimes feel.
I have become to think that some dr-ugs cause side effects that are then treated with other dr-ugs, ending with too many in the system. Maybe some of the old natural remedies are worth looking at.
All the best {hug}

What steroids is it you take missus chops? I've taken prednisone since September last year but I'm being weaned off them now with a view to stopping taking them in three weeks.

I take Prednisilone tablets. 20mg a day, when I get ill I take 40mg a day. Also Seratide inhalers 500mg 3 times a day. Also Phexophenadine Hydrochloride and Montilucast, Salbutamol inhalers and salbutamol and atrovent nebules, through my nebulisor.
( you did ask )
I saw a Homeopath when I was about 18, was wonderful, took 3 tablets and didn't have excema again until I was pregnant 3 years later.
Not sure why I haven't done it since, cost, and not being able to find the same person.
As for Diabetes, I have been advised to make an appointment with my GP in 1 week, when I have got over my recent trip to hospital, been given lots of leaflets and advice.
